How we use the details you give us when you request a repair
Last updated: October 2026
1. Who we are
FixiService is a trading name of FIXPRO TECHNOLOGIES LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17287828), registered office Office 12, Initial Business Centre, Wilson Business Park, Manchester M40 8WN. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
FixiService takes requests for appliance, boiler and air conditioning repairs in London and passes them to independent engineers. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and what your rights are under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).
2. What we collect
- Contact details you give us: your name, phone number and address or postcode.
- Details of the job: the appliance, the fault and anything else you tell us.
- Calls: when you call us or we call you back, the call is recorded and transcribed, and our automated call assistant uses it to take down your request.
- Advertising data: if you arrived from an advert, the ad click identifier (for example gclid) and campaign tags (utm_*) from the page address.
- Your cookie choice, saved in your browser.
3. Why we use it and our legal basis
- To handle your request: to call you back, take the details and find an engineer (steps you ask us to take before a contract, and our legitimate interest in running the service).
- To pass your job to an engineer, who needs your name, phone number, address and the fault to contact you and do the repair.
- To keep call recordings and records of requests, so that we can check what was agreed, deal with complaints and disputes and prevent fraud (legitimate interests).
- To measure our adverts, only if you accept advertising cookies (consent).
- To meet legal obligations, such as tax and accounting rules.
4. Who we share it with
- The independent engineer who takes your job.
- Service providers who run parts of the service for us: website hosting, telephony and SMS, voice and AI processing of calls, and our servers. They act on our instructions.
- Google, for advert measurement, only if you accept advertising cookies.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Engineers pay us to receive repair requests: we share your contact details and the details of the job only with the engineer who takes it. Some of our providers are based outside the UK; where data is transferred abroad we rely on UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
5. How long we keep it
We keep your request, call recordings and transcripts for as long as we need them to provide the service and to deal with any questions, complaints or disputes about the repair, and then delete or anonymise them. Records we must keep by law (for example for tax) are kept for the period the law requires.
6. Your rights
- Access: ask for a copy of your data.
- Correction: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Erasure: ask us to delete your data.
- Restriction and objection: ask us to limit or stop using your data, including objecting to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Portability: ask for data you gave us in a common electronic format.
- Withdraw consent: change your cookie choice at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details below. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113).
